Challenge:
The global climate crisis necessitates urgent and coordinated action across various sectors. However, the challenge lies in mobilizing diverse communities, including foundations, young leaders, and corporate entities, to actively contribute to non-negotiated outcomes, negotiated outcomes, and a collective call to action. Bridging these efforts under the umbrella of resilience requires a strategic approach to address the complex and interconnected issues surrounding climate change.
Solution:
COP28 Foundations Flagship Day provided a strategic solution by structuring the event around the key themes of the COP28 Presidency’s Vision. The three critical areas – The Action Agenda, The Negotiated Outcomes, and A Call to Action – were explored through sessions designed to empower young leaders and stakeholders. By focusing on the Sharm-El-Sheikh Adaptation Agenda, the event highlighted 30 Adaptation Outcomes to enhance resilience in vulnerable communities. The program’s unique approach integrated corporate ambition, negotiation processes, and a call to action, emphasizing resilience as a unifying factor in addressing climate challenges.
